Overview

Qwen3.8-27B is a dense vision-language model, distinct from the MoE Qwen3.8-Flash-Next. It accepts text, images and video and generates text. Qwen reports 27B parameters and a 262,144-token native context, extensible to 1M (model card).

Architecture

  • Backbone: 64 layers, hidden size 5120, vocabulary 248320.
  • Repeated group: 16 repetitions of 3 Gated DeltaNet layers followed by 1 Gated Attention layer, for 48 linear-attention and 16 full-attention layers.
  • Linear attention: 48 value heads and 16 QK heads, head dimensions 128, convolution kernel width 4.
  • Full attention: 24 query heads and 4 KV heads, head dimension 256, with output gating and 64-dimensional rotary position embeddings.
  • FFN: dense SwiGLU with intermediate width 17408; no MoE router or expert selection.
  • Speculation: one configured MTP layer, trained for multi-step prediction.
  • Precision and license: BF16 reference checkpoint under Apache 2.0.

Architecture dimensions and the complete layer order are available in the published config.

InferenceX execution variants

The standard and eager InferenceX entries use the same Qwen3.8-27B checkpoint architecture. Eager identifies an execution variant; it does not define another parameter count, attention pattern or model family. Results remain separate so the execution settings can be compared without mixing their identities.

Qwen3.8 27B (eager) inference performance (8K/1K)

Live InferenceX benchmark data for Qwen 3.8 27B (eager) on the 8K/1K workload, measured in total tokens per dollar across every chip config with data.
